Mirror Mirror
Interactive audiovisual installation ← Back to Artist Work
Mirror Mirror is an interactive audiovisual installation developed and presented in 2019 at MUTEK Barcelona, Quinoa Festival, and Espronceda Art Center.
The installation generates a time-distorted, mirror-like visual environment that responds in real time to human presence and biological signals. Rather than producing a literal reflection, Mirror Mirror creates an intangible and shifting image—one that unfolds through interaction and temporal displacement.
The work explores forms of co-agency between plants and humans, using biodata as a generative input that shapes the audiovisual behavior of the system. Through this process, the installation blurs boundaries between subject and environment, proposing a reflective space where perception emerges from relational dynamics rather than fixed representation.
Mirror Mirror invites participants to encounter their presence indirectly, through a responsive system that translates biological activity into evolving visual feedback, emphasizing perception as a shared and mutable process.
