Superfícies Salvatges
Live audiovisual intervention ← Back to Artist Work
Superfícies Salvatges is a live audiovisual intervention developed by Akyute within an existing architectural installation made of mycelium, presented at MODEL Festival Barcelona 2023. The installation, designed by the New York–based architecture studio Harrison Atelier, functioned as a living structure and spatial framework for the intervention.
Rather than modifying the physical structure, the performance engaged with the mycelium installation as a responsive and living presence. Through sound, visuals, and bodily activation, the intervention explored how technological systems can interact with biological matter without imposing extractive or anthropocentric logics.
The audiovisual system responded to spatial conditions, presence, and materiality, creating a temporal layer that unfolded in dialogue with the mycelium structure and the surrounding environment. Technology was approached as a sensitive medium, enabling a form of coexistence between human action, digital processes, and living matter.
Superfícies Salvatges situates performance as a site of encounter between architecture, biology, and audiovisual practice, proposing a porous relationship between technological systems and living environments.
