Time, Force & Space
is an ongoing performative research project that explores the relationship between the human body and digital systems through movement, sound, and real-time audiovisual processes. Initiated in collaboration with dancer Nona Siepmann, the project investigates how bodily gestures are interpreted, translated, and transformed by technological systems.

The research began as a duet between body and system, supported by Fonds Darstellende Künste (NEUSTART KULTUR). Through live performance, motion data generated by the dancer’s body is translated into sound and visuals, forming a responsive digital environment that evolves in dialogue with movement. Rather than aiming for seamless interaction, the work focuses on moments of friction, misinterpretation, and ambiguity—revealing the limits of how systems perceive and categorize the body.

A first public performance was presented in 2023 at Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica, curated by La Fluent, where the project was shared as both process and live performance. In a second phase, the project expanded to include sound artist Daphne Xanthopoulou, deepening the exploration of how movement data can shape sonic structures. This iteration was presented as a live audiovisual performance at ECOSS Festival 2024.

Time, Force & Space approaches the body not as a dataset to be optimized, but as a living, unstable system—one that breathes, transforms, and resists fixed interpretation. The project proposes performance as a space to re-imagine how technology can be embodied, inviting attention to presence, perception, and the continuous negotiation between body, system, and environment.
