WVN
Site-specific light and sound installation ← Back to Artist Work
WVN is a site-specific installation created for BAU as part of OFF Llum BCN 2020. The work consists of a luminous sculpture suspended in the air, conceived in direct relation to the architectural and industrial history of the BAU headquarters building.
Drawing from the building’s former use as a textile storage warehouse, a custom-made wire mesh was constructed specifically for the installation. Two laser beams pass through this woven structure, allowing the light to reflect and generate shifting textile-like patterns in dialogue with the existing architecture.
Light is treated as a sculptural and spatial material, activated through its encounter with the handmade wire structure. Synchronized with sound, the installation creates an immersive atmospheric experience that invites viewers to perceive the building as an active participant rather than a static container.
Through the interaction of light, sound, and the constructed wire weave, WVN reveals latent spatial rhythms and material memory, allowing the industrial past of the site to resonate within the present.
